Maritime Winter School - 2018 is an initiative of Maritime Study Forum (MSF) in collaboration with Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) and National Institute of Maritime Affairs (NIMA) to assemble maritime researchers in a unique interactive model to facilitate exchange of information and dialogue, expertise and ideas on opportunities and challenges in the pursuit of exploring and promoting Pakistan’s maritime potential.
The five-day program (23-27 Dec 2018) at National Centre For Maritime Policy Research (NCMPR), Karachi, will include in-house interactive sessions with senior experts along with exposure visits to a number of maritime sector organizations and coastal sites.
Eligibility: PhDs in maritime affairs, aspiring PhD and current MPhil scholars with demonstrated interest in maritime affairs (security, strategy, blue diplomacy, environment, marine sciences, oceanography, blue economy, coastal community development, education, law, Gwadar, maritime silk road, etc).
Participation Fee: PKR35,000/- (Fifteen full scholarships are available on merit and first come, first serve basis.)
Note: Participants will be required to bear their own travel expenses. The fee will cover their boarding/lodging, course material, lectures, exposure visits and certification cost.
